Art & Janet Riccard were heading to Bird Island on their boat and invited us along. Didn't take us 2 seconds to accept and grab some gear. We put in at "10 Foot Hole" in Apalachicola and headed out through the gap between Little St George Island and St Vincent Island.
Once out the other side we saw Bird Island which is a long sandy island inhabited only by birds (and for a couple of hours us and Art's boat). Dawn & Janet headed off to search for shells while us boys hung out and relaxed nearer the boat.
And on the way home Art blew some cobwebs out of the engine up the Apalachicola River system visiting areas we can't get to in kayaks as they're a bit far from any boat ramps - the water was way calmer up there than it had been out by Bird Island.
