A gentle breeze and temperatures in the high 70's made this a great day to be out on the water. A family on a weekend camping/fishing trip and 4-7 gators thought so too.
I say 4-7 gators because we had 7 sightings but we're pretty sure we saw 2 of them twice and we're not sure whether the last one was gator number 5 or gator number 3 again. Even though we saw at least as many gators today as we've ever seen while Kayaking before it was nice to see that they were true to form and not at all interested in being near us.
We put in at Graham Creek Boat Ramp and headed for a lunch spot on South Loop (west of the highway) before venturing into Deep Creek which is east of the highway. Deep Creek itself is pretty narrow and twisty and has a perfectly maintained campsite run by the forest guys.
There weren't many leaves out yet but you could see pollen rings on the trees where recent tide levels had been.
Just for the record... No sunburn on my bald patch.
