After an aborted trip on the 21st due to bad weather we got up bright and early (again) and left the boat ramp at sun-up for a trip across the bay, up "East River", past "Butcher Pen Landing" & "Fanny Lake" and back down the Apalachicola River.
That time of morning is fantastic to be out on the water - definitely recommend it. Some of the early pictures we took don't show how dark it was as the camera auto-adjusted but you can make it out when I turned towards the sunrise.
When we stopped at "Sam's Cutoff" to check the map, we had a reliability issue with my ski not restarting. It was a bit of a worry as it nearly resulted in our second aborted trip in succession (and a tow home for me from Dawn's ski) but after about 30 yards of towing I retried my ski and it started right up - so we disconnected the rope, turned around and headed "up river".
