January started off way too cold for Kayaking. Snow was falling in England and frost was biting in Florida. The cold weather started to break around the middle of January for a more normal Floridian winter but February weekends were pretty chilly too (despite having some good mid-week days).
And when the weather started to break in March we had to spend a few weekends getting the outdoor jobs done before it gets too hot. But the tail end of March brought back some high-60 to low-70 degree days and kayak planning resumed with a vengeance.
The weather was lovely in April. So nice in fact that we actually started seeing more other people getting out and about and enjoying the great outdoors.
We were on vacation in Orlando in May and then by June it got a bit hot for our typical type of kayak trip so we did some in the open waters of the bays and then switched to jetskis.

A gentle breeze and temperatures in the high 70's made this a great day to be out on the water. A family on a weekend camping/fishing trip and 4-7 gators thought so too.
I say 4-7 gators...
